Last week saw the end of the year for Carousel Write Clubs and we celebrated our successes in our Annual Carousel Showcase. Parents, grandparents, uncles, aunties, friends and teachers were treated to a collection of stories, plays, songs, poems and journalism, all written by us; The Carousel Kids.

Our Story Club got the Carousel spinning with their Magic Beach role play and singing. Our Authors’ Club gave us some great character descriptions. And our Scribers’ Club had us in stitches with their puppet show. Aoife Sharkey read us her poem Expessions.

Congratulations, Aoife, on winning the Listowel Writers’ 2013 Competition under nines.

We had a blast and at the end we were presented with our very own Carousel Write Mag with all our own work from the year. Look! There’s my name in print!

Bye for now! Looking forward to September!

Well done to all the Carousel children! The audience was flash backed through a year of seasons and themes whilst getting an insight into what their young writers had been up to for an hour a week this year. Thank you to all of you who continue to encourage your young authors, poets, playwrights, song writers and journalists.

Don’t let it stop there! Keep that reading and writing going through the summer months!

See you in September. Keep an eye on the website for dates!
